Kingdom Description: The people of Ausran are descendents of the mountain dwelling Elves of eras gone by. At some point in their history, those who resided in the mountains that bordered the floodplains were forced out of their lands by an invading army of Dwarves. They escaped through cleverly traversing the boggy floodplains. 

The Ausranians have, over the decades, forged a city on stilts. A network of platforms connects together many small towns scattered tightly across the south western region of the floodplains, each ruled by a member of the high family of Ausran, the Arcamenals. Only a fraction of the Ausran floodplains is actually inhabited; most of the plains act as a barrier to invaders.  The raised architecture of the city means that the seasonal floods which sweep across the plains every autumn don't affect the citizens' daily lives. The boggy floodplains also act as an effective barrier against invasion, preventing supplies being brought in by invading armies. 

The nature of the floodplains means that the Ausrans struggle with procuring wood. To fuel their ship building nearly all of the logs they procure from the foothills are used to build ships. The towns of Ausran are prodominently build from bamboo like materials and material which has drifted in from the sea. Rocks are used to break up waves and to construct the large naval port that resides at the most southern point of the coast. The construction of buildings and structure has become a strong part of Ausran's technological make up. The difficulty of constructing buildings on the boggy plains has made the Ausranians construction specialists. The Ausranians' finest creation is the grand port that sits at the southern most point of its coast. It houses the nation's strong navy, which patrols the straights. Ausranian sailors are skilled in ship handling in the unpredictable waters of the straight, and are also skilled at military operations at sea.

Metals are also scarce in Ausran. Iron is the only metal which can meet the demands of the civilization; it comes from the mountains bordering the plains. Coal, however, is a material which is in adundance. The decaying material that makes up the boggy plains has left a large source of coal to power Ausran's powerful navy. 

Due to the threat of invasion being minimal, Ausran's military is weak. Less than 5% of Ausran's population makes up its military. Ranged combat, however, remains a strong aspect of its military.

Culture: Ausran society surrounds itself with all that is associated with the sea. Music and dance revolve around the acquatic creatures which inhabit the waters surrounding the kingdom. 
History: At some point in history, the Elves whom inhabited the mountains south of the floodplains were forced out of their homes by an invading force of Dwarves. They escaped into the floodplains, where they set up their new civilization. 
Religion: The Ausranians, unusually, vehemently worship the God of Water, Aqueas. They believe that he protects them from the violent waters the straight.
