Species: The Hakoni are* the only intelligent life within their solar system of 12 planets, living only on their home planet of Nursa. Originally discovered by a Norwegian explorer from the USC, the species itself is relatively isolated and extremely social. A brief description of each Hakoni would start with their massive eyes and their huge noses, as well as their massive bone structure. Gentle giants that stand at an average 2 meters high, the Hakoni have poor hearing, but rely on eyesight and smell. The Hakoni language can be described as a series of grunts, gurgling, and many rollings of internal organs that any species wouldn't have. The primal structure of a Hakoni has never been determined by an outside source, but many speculate to think that they may have more than three lungs, a huge brain, and a stretched digestive system comprised of one tract.
*After extinction event of the Siksa

The societal status of each Hakoni can also determine the color of their nose and skin. Hakoni, often communicating not only with language, do so with their body. They often touch eachother, leading much curiousity to any explorer. Typically observed by UCS explorers is a series of indigo colors for any military personnel, and a soft, smooth surfaced skin. Explorers and frontiersmen often have furry, rugged skin and bent statures, with a yellow tan. Orange tans often denote societal status as worker bondsmen, and dark tinted skin denotes the status of servants and labourers. A majority rule of military over labor holds sway in the societal status of the junta.

Homeworld Name: Nursa
Homeworld Location: Grid 02B
Homeworld Description: A huge argon-neon giant that is 1.5 AU from the triple star combination it orbits. The planet itself is four times the size of Earth, at about 20000 kilometers large. The overall density of the planet is about 1.12 g/cm3, slightly more dense than water. The wind speeds of the planet are an average 25 mph, making pressure at a 72 kpa. Due to extreme argon and neon capacity, the planet is uninhabitable by any race that cannot breath said gasses. The average temperature hovers at around -40 degrees celsius, warm for any Hakoni. The gravity of the planet is about 7.2230 m/s.

Political System: Stratocratic nomocracy
History:
Originally a feudalistic tribals, the Hakoni would find themselves threatened by a hivemind bug race referred to as the "Siksa". Putting their petty squabbling behind, a meeting determined a de-jure "ruler", a de-facto military junta to protect the planet and extinguish the threat of the Siksa. Shortly after the 14th century, a united offensive of billions, relying on quantity, overran the Siksa. However, the military junta refused to step down. The de-facto junta would inherit every tribal funding iniative, placing all of it in the research of new technology for warfare and protection of the junta and the ultimate goal of keeping the junta in power.

By accident, the junta had discovered phase-jump technology.

Determined to protect themselves, the junta expanded and explored their demesne in the search for technology that would centralize and isolate them from any other attacks from races like the Siksa. A constant search for knowledge that will give them the power to protect themselves, their only goal the exploration and advancement of technology to defend themselves.

The name Haakon's Discovery eventually found itself predominant in the 22nd century, as a human vessel lead by a Norwegian explorer, Haakon Hadrade, managed to find a derelict Hakoni vessel. Shortly afterwards, forward exploration eventually revealed the homeworld of the Hakoni and the sociable personality of them. A stark contrast showed that their personality to foreign races is nothing like it once was, the Hakoni being a sociable and respectful people that seek to only destroy hive-minds, parasites, and virulents. Smart, sociable, and dedicated to research, the Hakoni rely on trade and exploration for their research.

Act of Nazark
By decree of King Zoal on the construction of the first Hakoni vessel, even the first spaceship and border markings were restricted to the outer rings of the Hakoni home system. No Hakoni can pass this border unless it is for the purpose and blessings of the current King, Odck. Most passings are purely scientific, and any outposts throughout the close stars are purely there to study the stars themselves, or find breakthroughs in technology. This means no expansion, no adventuring without the blessing of the King, and isolation for anyone but the armed forces, merchants, and scientists. All three of those groups simply need to write and pray once to Odck, and then may venture onward. This prevents any criminal activity of the Hakoni, and with the heavily militaristic and religious society, there is barely any regardless.
