Forum stuff
The theme might be changing now and then for accommodation purposes- AtS's current generation originated on a forum with a lighter background meaning there's some legacy loss depending on how people formatted things. For now, the quickest solution is individual rather than administrative: try and change the colors to adapt to the new forum's background. If everyone wants lighter though we can do that.
Usergroups and such have yet to be set up, if you guys have suggestions for how you want moderation or any other system to work, post it here and we can figure something out. Our setup is pretty flexible and should allow for a fair amount of freedom combined with appropriate levels of control.
One thing I noticed was that there is an alliance in the civilization sheets so I was curious about how we could organize it best, should that be stickied, as with other alliances like it as well as they crop up?
All forum suggestions should be here for now for ease of organizing, the suggestions/complaints thing for now is kinda vestigial until we get some proper guidelines up for the section so it doesn't turn into an ideas guy convention with some pointless banter on the side.

Re: Forum stuff
I've got no objections to stickying alliances.
Right now, as I told Alien, it'd be great to have the same feature you have in Vbulletin and SMF: to see whether there are new posts from the main forum, and in which board they're posted and in what thread.

You can see this from "View posts since last visit".

Oh, also, an explanation. Bospy and I are not GMs. We're just helping Alien set up the forum, and we have no jurisdiction over AtS. Other than being players of it we will be participating no differently than anyone else.

Doesn't work as pleasantly, and it doesn't refresh, so I still see posts there which I've already viewed.

Re: Forum stuff
It shows recent posts in order of newest to oldest, the yellow page next to the poster's name signifies if you have read it or not. I just checked about 5 seconds after viewing your post and it wasn't yellow anymore.

Oh, that's handy. I'd still rather have the system I proposed though.

Re: Forum stuff
Also it seems there is no "new posts" icon on the left hand side. Very weird. If anyone likes graphics, feel free to take a crack at turning the current one into a more vibrant looking icon.

Get this kid a fucking beer.
On that note, let's change the quote colors. It's uglier than a Voehn that had a run in with a frying pan.

Thank you so much, Chief.
And yeah it is. I think we would need someone to modify the CSS style sheet though...

Re: Forum stuff
Suggestion: No new posts should be a circle with two lines in an 'X', New Posts should be just a circle with the glow, or a circle with a glow and a check mark.
Also the ctrl shortcuts for formatting (bold, italics, etc) do not work for me.

What browser are you using? When I used IE briefly, they seemed to work. But as of now, on Chrome, they do not.

Re: Forum stuff
Use alt instead of ctrl, that should work.
edit: Uh oh, the icon is a little misaligned. Will fix.

Re: Forum stuff
Icon is done. Resized it to match with the other icon and recycled it for threads with new posts too. Again, thank you Chief!
@Muezza: The circle with the X is already in use for locked threads, so it would require some shifting around of resources to make it fit. Apparently, the locked one has a red X through the circle. Hot threads, or threads with a certain amount of posts in a certain amount of time, have an X with a similar color to the circle (this thread is an example of the icon).
I also have no idea how we can do pink thread titles. I am very sorry. As compensation we will be adding a Muezza usergroup with a pink name.
@Chief: There's a "hot thread" type where a thread reaches a certain amount of points in a certain amount of time, basically displaying it as popular. You think you could make up an icon for that too, as well as "hot and new" which is a hot topic with unread posts? It'd be really cool.
