Western Rica / El Manar City Borders

On the yellow straw grass and the red earth they came, refugees in their thousands, trying to move away from the horrors of the Rican civil war, a war that never truly ended. Women holding babies, crying, however the government soldiers were strict, tearing babies off their mothers to check if they were in fact bombs.

A convoy of medical trucks enter the city and the distant gunfire of the Rican Civil war can be heard, for the soldiers of Kotunga it was alarming to think the war was only a few miles away.

Rather than be bleakly obscure about army movements, Kotunga will shift its main view to focus around roughly 20 new characters we're bringing in as part of Kotunga's HVT system, these HVT's will all be men with back stories and will hopefully give the events more substance. In part they also give an opposing force a finger to point at and a person to attempt to capture.

El Manar City - The Rise of Rickett Dog

They kicked down the door, little did the Kotungan Marine Corps know that this house belonged to Rickett Dog, having already eaten his breakfast, he flipped his table from the seat he was sitting at, grabbed his rusty PDW and accurately gunned down the marines, with head shots at this range being easy for the frankly unprepared men. He sprinted through the back of his shanty house as bullets flied in and skimmed off walls and smashed into metal and concrete. He dived through a hole in the wall, which was, in Rickett Dog's mind supposed to be a window.

Rickett Dog's feet hit the ground as he sprinted down the street and dived into a moving car window, he shot the driver with his PDW and the 3 relevant passengers, Rickett Dog was good, too good, it was said he had never been caught and he could boost anything with a motor, within 3 seconds the car had restarted and Rickett Dog was speeding down the street, he drove past a military checkpoint and threw a block of aged plastic explosive out the window, the man was the very incarnation of anarchy, he controlled his drift as he screeched round a corner, a bead of sweat ran down his head in the scorching heat as the Kotungan army were hot on his trail, shooting his small hatchback with automatic rifles, it was merely seconds before Rickett Dog's demise.

It was then he flicked on cruise control and shot open the sunroof, he dived out of the roof of the car, relying the speed of the chase, the wind resistance and the ill expecting army he jumped out of the car and smashed into the windshield of the armored car behind him, he quickly finished off the marines inside and threw his then emptied PDW out the window of the car.

He has merely survived, his arm was broken and he didn't have the strength to push the pedals on the car, his propped an assault rifle to the seat and pointed it along a straight road out of the city, it was another 72 miles to the outskirts, he had to find another way to escape. 3 Jeeps remained but their bullets did nothing to the armor of his new vehicle.

He drove past a suspicious looking medical convoy heading into the heart of the city, something wasn't right with it, even the driver looked odd, it was but a footnote in the heart of the chaos as the bullets slammed into his armor. He was running out of track, then he saw it, shining bright in the sun, a shanty, it was the ruined wreck of Hinsatmaka's part of town, he drove into it so hard he plowed through a few houses before landing in the high street, he jumped out quickly and sprinted into a side alley. The residents of the shanty were quick to see the military armored car and fired upon the other military cars chasing Rickett Dog. Rickett Dog blended into the crowd of rioters while slowly moving backwards and eventually leaving the part of town, hearing the sporadic gunfire in the distance and smiling to himself.

The Badlands-Yasa Koobiku

Post by El Wood on Wed Feb 27, 2013 10:46 am

Yasa, like many Badland dwellers loves to watch a fight as well as particapate. He is a man after the spectacle of chaos and blood shed, and will do many things to flare up and argument, a fight or even a battle. His actions provide him with an acquired entertainment only the Badlands of Kotunga can provide. He was born in the badlands and thinks the reason the badlands exists is to give him a cheap laugh and amusement for the day.

These sparks he creates, include shooting a gang lords wife and other female partners and then painting the bodies in rival gang signs and symbols. He will then watch the conflict and drama unfold upon the streets like a play. His latest act of horrible mischeif happened in the borders of Badlands and Rica,it was the sniping of three men in the street from afar. These men where Liberal Free Fighters, before the bodies where lifted from the street ,he runs to the scene now crowded with people, and screams:
"Retrabution for da Free Liberal Fighta's!"
He then spits on the bodies, and cries his fake name.
"I am Fredrico Flousa! Be very afraid!"
Fredrico was the local barber of this district and was completely innocent. However this poor man was snatched from his home in the morning after and crucified on fire by the Liberal Free Fighters in the street. Yasa meanwhile giggles and spectates on his art from the roof of a near by building.

Yasa Koobiku is responsible for 313 deaths directly from his own hand, but indirect murders and deaths that he has caused totals to an estimated 3002 deaths. His greatest and most catastrophic situation he had ever created was the cause for over 400 deaths.
Yasa Koobiku was bored in the town of Gongastone and thought not to just rob a market or shoot brothers of gang bosses but he thought a loud reception to the arrival of Mohmars insurgents in the badlands was in order. The I.E.D he had stole was simple, an oil drum filled to the brim with a napalm substrate and simple remote detonater was buried deep into the ground in the middle of the road. As 8 technicals of Mohmars army drove down the streets they where soon vanished as Yasa had detonated the bomb. In a 50 foot high explosion of thick fire and shrapnel, the 30 man convoy was destroyed as well as other passers by. Shacks and homes where also damaged by flame airborne car wrecks that fell from the sky.

Yasa laughed for minutes on end but amongst his celebration was an even better unexpected escalation of his self caused carnage.
In less than 30 minutes Mohmars other near by army approached the Badlands settlement with 50 foot-soldiers screaming and chanting for the blood of anyone in the settlement of Gongastone. The arrival of Mohmars men was heard throughout the streets with gunfire and slaughter of anything that wasn't ...well wasn't Mohmars men. Women and children had been gunned down and homes ruined,it was time for these natives to stand up and fight.

Yasa Koobiku looked, awestruck of what he had created, in a state of shear pride. The battle lasted 2 hours and all of Mohmars men had been fought off from lack of numbers and lack of ammo. The settlement of Gongastone had lost 320 men fighting Mohmar with inferior weapons and tactics. Men lay paved across the streets amongst rumble, blood and shell casings. Mohmars men where hung from trees, lamp posts or eaten for good luck. Fire and screams filtered through the town like a cold air, but this was a victory none the less, for the men of the badlands and of course for Yasa himself, who walks around silently with a cigarette and a cool sense of admiration for the spectacle of anarchy and horror he had created. He never wanted to be a criminal, he always thought of himself to be an artist.

A rocket-like pod is assembled in the center of the frigate, pneumatic and hydraulics pushing two pieces together in the crevice in the center of the vessel. It is now very clear - it's a siege ray.

A huge beam immediately strikes Western Rica, the massive kinetic beam streaming across the sky for a split second, leaving a small, circular crater of about 2 miles in diameter. 16 miles around the crater is affected by heavy doses of gamma radiation.

As the craft fired into the planet, all the orbiting C.C.T craft would make their way for it. Weapons primed and obviously ready to blow it out of the skies on short notice.

"Unidentified Siege Craft, cease fire immediately or face destruction, this is your only warning. You are attacking land of the Coalition of Cleansed Territories, cease fire immediately or face destruction."

The Undergrounds of Utay - 09:43

An explosion on the surface rattled the structure and some earth fell from the roof as men could be overheard talking. The underground grotto of Akuma Mondwellu stank like hell, there was a dead pig in the corner and in between the yellow light rays that pierced and illuminated the room a few people could be seen shuffling to a metal patched up table with a few bottles clinking as they sit down.
The men around the table were Chikalo Montgomery, an ex Hinsatmakan lieutenant who had evidently changed alligiances, Hazeem Al-Bashir, an anti-government conspirator, "Bad Dog" Brison, a notoriously sloppy but effective hitman, Carl "The Jackal" Ramos, an illiterate Malverdian arms dealer, and 3 representatives from the Free Liberal Fighters, the Freedom Fighters of Liberty and the Liberal Freedom Fighters.
Akuma Mondwellu was the first to speak.

“You know why I have called you here, that idiot Jaro thinks he can just change this nation? He thinks he can just change all our profit margins, our drugs, our guns, our homes? No, we gotta do him in, and we got-"
Chikalo cut in
“Since when t’fuck where you incharge!”
He was immediately silenced by Hazeem Al-Bashir, who shushed him by slamming a knife into the table
Carl started.
“Alright, from what I have seen I have somewhere in the range of a couple of thousand Malverdian X-9 assault rifles for export, with the amount of iron that comes out of Fuegos island he will never know what goes missing."
The 3 frankly nameless representatives understood however why they were there, and were only privy to see what was about to happen, they didn’t have any say in the matter, this is probably why 2 of the 3 looked bitterly discontent.
Akuma was the first to address them.
“I assume all is going to plan with the Free Mans Coalition of Liberty?” to which they replied “Yes, yes it is.”
“I don’t think we should be looking at national identity for now, with the old engineers union and the police union combined somewhere out there, there should still be competent workers, right?”

“I would assume so yes, but a lot of people wont know, it could take weeks, months to tell people that the fighting is stopped.”
“What about the nuke?”
“It’s in the city.”
“Fantastic, Bad Dog!”

The pasty skinned white man wearing a balaclava was all but asleep by now, Akuma’s hailing snapped him awake “Urgh, yes?”
“You obviously know why you’re here.”

Bad Dog broke down the plan. “Alright, the plaza, im gonna hide in the rubble pile north of the Carnoti Meat Markets I’ll carry my rifle in a potato sack, Ill get there at 5, a white man in a crowd of black dudes isn’t exactly incognito.”
“Good plan bad dog, alright, Carl, rig him up with something.” Akuma said it while nodding, content with his organisation. Carl replied to him “No problem man, just no manifests.”
“Okay, it will be done, now get the fuck outta here!”

Akuma said this while thumbing the table, spilling a few bottles, the mixed race meeting got out of their seats in harmony and shuffled toward the rickety corrugated iron door which Carl then kicked down. The fighting in Utay was beginning to stop as the FMCL was beginning to form.

El Manar - 15:52

Rickett Dog sped down out of the favela on his newly jacked hatchback, he took his eyes off the road for two seconds to read an old map and mounted the pavement, he didn’t know he was doing anything illegal till a butcher, a barber and 3 dustbins went over his bonnet. It was just his luck that the military convoy that was chasing him was coming back through this area he shifted the gears on his car and was speeding past the plaza when someone jumped into HIS car, he grabbed his PDW and pointed at the man who had just raided his car until the man grabbed the gun and punched him the face the two men wrestled for the steering wheel, but one of the hands on the wheel was white… and pasty. Rickett Dog then slowly said amongst the fighting and the military grade ammunition now flying through the back window. “Bad Dog?”

It was, not surprisingly Bad Dog, who immediately clambered off Rickett Dog, they were driving when hundreds of people sprinted across the road, many of them becoming fender food for Rickett’s car.
“Christ Bad Dog, what the hell is up with all the people today?!”
Bad Dog reloaded his pistol and fired out the back window at the army trucks chasing them. “A hit on Jaro went south, some arsehole blew up the stage!”
Rickett Dog was keeping a keen eye on the road, but at hearing that there was a hit on Jaro he spun and turned at Bad Dog, then looked out the back, realising half of the Kotungan Marine Corps were chasing them. He looked for too long, it was then they hit a particularly peculiar figure, a machete then smashed through the window, its dull gleam entering the middle of the car. It was Bad Dog who recognised this one. “Samosis?!”

El Manar

Post by El Wood on Tue Mar 05, 2013 11:12 am

The sun shined a cosy dim yellow glow through the evening of one of the many ghettos owned by Obi Sanjaro. However in this short lived moment of bliss and otherwise abnormal peace walked among the people a figure, crafted from nightmares and evil, a true demon amongst men, Samosis Spine.

This devil, once a man of comfortable background,in the El Manar savannahs, had a family of 10 children and a loyal wife which is very hard to find in Kotunga. He was a salt miner for the peace militia, with his friends, and other family members. He loved his labour, it was hard but simple and surrounded by his loved ones this was an easy life; away from the violence that grasps Kotunga permanently.

This was snatched away from him in the space of the worst 15 minutes of Samosis's life. This act of horror and inhumanity crafted one of the most feared mass murderers of all time.
It was a red sky'd morning , the miners get up to do their jobs, as the men left to work, the hums and grunts of Obi Sanjaros tenichal hordes charge at the the town. They rode through the town like a carcinogenic disease shouting and crying the name of Obi Sanjaro. Gunning down and cleansing the loved ones of the workers, the women cried as their children were ripped from their arms and shot, then they too where shot. Other men that didn't work in the mines where made an example of. They were beheaded publicly in lines one by one on a magenta tree stump stained in many shades of blood.
Due to the machinery and how deep the mine was, the miners (50),where ignorant that their entire town, families and lively-hood was being desecrated and massacred by Obi and his men. It was only until that the evening struck that they decide to return to the surface. They where met with the most horrible spectacle ever witnessed by their eyes. The exit of the mine was collapsed, but caved in with these men; where the 400 bodies of the towns people. Rotting, many headless and making a steam of dark warm blood flowing down the tunnel. The miners fell their knees, some wept, some stood in shear awe that someone or thing would do this to them. Samosis walked amongst these bodies, crying, in the mine looking for them with limited light, rolling corpses over and deciphering body parts from undismembered bodies. This was the very image of hell for the miners. Dark,Red, surrounded by death and with no hopes of escape. The rock that in-cased that tomb was harder that what the miners machinery could handle and if they used it , it would take days. Samosis lead the escape, digging away at the boulders and rock walls. Some men saw this futile and even resorted to suicide. The 20 men that hadn't staved to death and that had resorted to eating the bodies of their families worked for 9 days to escape this realm of death and gore.

And finally, these men had been free'd from hell, into a blinding sun light and a fresh air of freedom, not bound by the smell of dead flesh, disease and vomit. The 20 men that had escaped, roamed for sanctuary and help but only the wilderness greeted them with more tests and depressing sadness. The men slowly dwindled from disease and malnutrition. All but one. Samosis Spine, who was picked up by a Hitsamaka's tribe farmer who saw the look in his eye, one of darkness, death and a look that shows that he had nothing ever to fear any more. He took care of Samosis for 2 days until he was fit to leave. From the minute that he left that mine he swore that he would end every living soul that carries Obi Sanjaros blood or ideals. Only that farmer had some idea that what Samosis would do when he left. But he did nothing.

This beast carved from sin walked through the ghettos, halls and ware houses only filled with beds in Obi Sanjaros territories. His eyes fixed on the penatrating smiles and signs of life that he know loathed. He gripped his sub machineguns tightly in each hand. And lifted them from his long coat and opened fire into dense crowds of mainly children. He screamed at the top of his voice as his custom magged weapons buzzed and cut through citizens of his enemy. His war, his vendetta, his revenge had started.
His heart was lost in the absence of empathy and joy, he reloaded this guns and started over again, this time with the men, women and children with their backs turned ,running for the exit of the large abandoned ware house now used for bedding and living space. They fell as they crushed each other trying to escape through the one exit from Samosis's wrath. With no ammo left,
and he took to the streets with his machete . Long and thin, sharpened for days on end for this moment. He sliced the wounded and killed soldiers and citizens in his blood drunk rage of shear violence and death. Now tired from the days killings he faded from the scene where he had taken as many as 268 souls. This was one of many of his retaliations, and he would not stop until Obi or he was dead.
He left one man alive, a soldier of Obi, only for a message:

"I have walked hand in hand with death, it is about time Obi does as well."

Samosis walked from street to street trying to avoid being seen. As he walked on the across a road he was suddenly met with a speeding car.....

The siege cannon once more blasts a huge ray of energy at the massive city of El Manar, the frequency of tremors huge this time. An entire city block might be leveled, a huge crater left behind. The beam of energy would leave no trace but huge tremors throughout El Manar and rubble filling blocks surrounding the area of attack. The blue cannon is now dark, filters slowly filling up with an unknown substance to likely produce another wave of energy.

A transmission is pinged throughout the system consisting of symbols and mathematical integers. Simple to decode to those that knew HEX or other forums of coding.

"THESE PRECIOUS RESOURCES ARE WORTH MORE THAN THE PARASITES THAT CARRY THEM"

On board, the Hakoni soldiers began to chant the words "DELIVERANCE!"

"Your choice has been made then, burn in fire.".

The four C.C.T craft had now entered range to fire on the cruiser should needed. The Admiral would take helm and order the weaponry up, his battleship being the last to do so. A Type 45 Missile Frigate would ready it's payload, the klaxons wailing as gunnery crew jog for the weapons control chairs.

The Captain of the siege frigate smiles broadly, screaming out to his cohorts.

"To the stars and beyond! Deliverance!"

The siege ray is full of blue substances once more, and once more fires on an El Manar city block.

The Admiral shakes his head, giving the age old naval saying.]

"Open fire.".

The Type 45's light missiles would launch and make their way to strike the Siege ship.

The missiles rock the ship, the crew on board feeling the tremors. A bulkhead in the bridge is breached, resulting in about twenty casualties managing fire control. The chant continues as the siege ship rickets, a massive klaxon ringing throughout the ship. The chant and klaxon drown out all sounds.

Slowly, the ship swivels towards the direction of the CCT vessels. The siege ray is entirely dark now, and the weapons and turrets on board do not fire. Instead, the massive vessel starts to charge engines - pointed directly at the vicinity of the CCT ships.

Worldwide

"Get under ground! NOW! JARO GET THE FUCK OUT OUTTA HERE!"

Jaro was literally forced out of his chair by his plethora of armed guards and rushed down the stairs of the Kotungan Government palace. He was moved into the hastily constructed underground bunker which would have inevitably seen a lot of use, as such Havoc mercenaries moved underground as El Manar was smashed.

Kotungan law was brutal, the city may have been crumbling, but there was no tolerance, rioters were shot and strict curfews were issued, this was partly due to the first regiment of the Kotungan Marines, they were designed for open conflict, not peace keeping. Riots were brutally suppressed in the night when the bright blue beams slammed into the city of El Manar, screams and shrieks erupted as men sprinted through the rubble, gunfire lit up the sky and small missiles were shot up at the behemoth Hakoni ship.

Many other territories looked up at the explosions in space, including General Fuego, for all of them one thing had just dawned on them: Exploitation.

The Conference - Unknown Kotunga - 3 Days after the attack.

The men resided in a huge room around a large circular table, behind them was a rather large map of Kotunga, dim blue lighting lit the room, Military presence was high, machines whirring and ticking was going around on all sides as various sectors lit up on the map and displayed information, radiological information was being displayed on the screen.

The main men at the table were the cream of Kotunga, Obi Sanjaro, Mohmar Deathstrike, General Fuego, Herod, Jeel Kanar, Prince Solomus, Jaro Kamin, Carl "The Jackal" Ramos, Akuma Mondwellu and a few CCT men. Dashed between these men were advisers, bodyguards, and other such personnel.

They had been arguing for a long, long time, the meeting had started 3 hours ago, and all they had done was bicker. This was the star studded cast of Kotunga, these were the biggest figures on the planet. In the middle of the semi circular table was a 3D holographic display of the current affair, facing it head on was General Miguel Fuego, dictator of Malverdian Isle, at was at this point he kicked out his wheeled leather chair and exclaimed as it wheeled backward.

"DON'T YOU GET IT?! DON'T YOU SEE WHAT WE CAN ACCOMPLISH?!"

Obi Sanjaro then stood up. "What?! What the fuck do you think we can do?! We are warriors! WOREYAHS, You think we can amount to something this big in such a short time?!"

Fuego replied, "My scientists tell me that with the amount of iron my nation is sitting on we have enough to build fleets upon fleets of space ships, all we need are the right specialists."

Akuma spoke out.
"General, I do not mean to belittle you, but the fact that you think iron, will stand up to other armors of other ships, is entirely impractical."

Herod then stood up just as Obi sat down. Herod was only here because he knew there were other powerful men here, it was one of the few occasions a black man had asked HIM to put some clothes on. "We don't NEED battleships damnit, we just need transports to ferry us to and throw, we have the Coalition to rely on. They can support us economically, all we've got to do is fight like shit and then some money's gonna come our way right?"

Prince Solomus eyed them with hatred, he was ashamed at these foreigners, his grandfather, Solomon, had once ruled a whole continent, a land bigger than any man could fathom, his dark blue tinted skin grew goosebumps at the thought of it, he then leaned over the Mohmar beside him and said quietly "Do you think any of these fucking idiots have a clue what they're talking about?"

Mohmar sat there in his green robes and black sunglasses. At first he would give the prince the impression that we wasn't listening, but the curving of his lips in the form of a sly smile would indicate he found the statement humorous.

Fuego was still ranting on.

"No, I am not talking about destroying enemy war vessels in space, I am talking about colonization. WAR DOES NOT CHANGE MY FRIENDS. Malverdian Bravery, Kotungan Anarchy, Mohmarian guerilla tactics, herodian ferocity, Tal'Dovian malice, would that not make the perfect soldiers once combined with the technologies of the occupying CCT? I hereby sign over my territories and my abundance of iron to the CCT on the truce that my culture and its professions may change purpose for the CCT, but not features, pay or hours laboring."

By this point Obi stopped arguing, he simply said; "You know.... that actually makes a lot of sense, the white man, in the white suit makes sense! Jaro, talk to those other boys, lemme know what they think."

It was at this stage, the CCT men, who had probably heard everything if they hadn't been completely inattentive would now have been stared at by 8 of the planets most lethal and brutal leaders, the only exception to them was Jaro, who then said.

"Well, where do we go from here?"

Southern Mount Glory

After a long wait time and monitering the background transmissions of Tal'Dovia, the calls to conference resulted in the Tal'Dovian army attacking the crash site with heavy, heavy kinetic artillery, to anyone at the site the orchestra of its fall from the sky would be nothing compared to this thrashing and crumbling of the sky upon the position.

Without care of any sort of damage it may cause, huge artillery rounds smash into the mountainside, each round causing a minor tremor. After the mountains would be smashed with artillery a nearby shell would crack into a geyser, pouring molten magma streaming toward the crash site, sending an inevitable death to anything that stayed in that area longer than a few minutes.

Due to the preparation of this assault and the blatant lack or any sort of probing by the alien forces the area beyond the crash site is dotted on all sides my monitoring equipment and various types of kinetic and flak AA. While these guns monitor silently the artillery does not stop firing, and when it does, artillery from other sites fires upon the site, the artillery comes in irregular intervals averaging out at about 40 rounds a minute, it sweeps, it circles and then closes in every 20 seconds, showing extreme drill and veterancy acquired over many long years of usage.

The rest of the ships would open up now, the light kinetics of the frigates firing of their shot as soon as the craft turned, the battleship however would maneuver to flank.

Diplomatic Meeting

A sole man would step forward and gaze amongst the room, worthless savages in his eyes, him and the Coalition only wanted the man power and the resources, not the politics, so that is what he intended to get with a simple offer.

"I am Lord-Authority Fortnum, head of the Cleansed Territories Gestapo, our intelligence agency, I will be frank with you gentlemen, in the short time the C.C.T has held land on Kotunga we are already fed up with your petty squabbles. I have heard a lot of the people at this table, leaders of men, terrorists, freedom fighters. Keep in mind you are insignificant to anything off of this world in the universe. But the Coalition is offering you a chance to be significant, you sit on a rough stone, with us you can help make it a gem. But keep in mind this is not a group offer, you unite at this table or you are swept aside and mentioned as a footnote in history.

Fortnum would remain standing there, glancing across the room once or twice to gauge the tables reaction.

Negotiations

The table would gauge hushed whispers to a point where Obi Sanjaro stands up.

"And what about our people, if we unite, how will we be treated?!"

Everyone then stares in astonishment that the tall black man standing could speak of such manners in such a way, defiance still burned within him, but this was a completely different side.

Fuego sat, putting his hands atop his bellyfat in his slumped chair position.

"How can we rely on you to refine our rough stone? You need to talk to us in the way of education, integration, we are powerful figures within this planet, while you think we are "footnotes" without us, the people will go mad. You think that without us you can enforce harsh law, and you may even slaughter the populace, but you could have an army of..."

Fuego taps the table and does some simple arithmetic pointing at the men around the table in succession. "...an army of about 32 billion? I say if you can deliver a nation that improves the quality of living, we should go for it?"

Jaro gives a thumbs up, pouts and squints, but nods in approval, he seems content.

Akuma Mondwellu speaks "I think that... it is a good idea, but how much co-operation are we going to see?"

This is followed by a general murmur of approval from the tables.

Herod then cuts infront of Akuma before another sentence should be made. "I think its good, its really good. Think about it guys, they give us weapons, we go and kick ass in their name. Well, not us, but we get to splash out everywhere, and we don't have any REAL responsibilities. While the people may be subjecated to work they damn well should be, from what I've read the Kotungan Continent is a god damn mess. I approve."

Prince Solomus then nods as the table looks to him for his response. "Everything that that guy just said, I will guage a more.... uhm... I'll give a full report later."

Mohmar slowly ascends out of his chair. His robes follow off the chair silently like a snake. He eyes everyone, and stares coldly at Fortnum.

"Living under men is as meaningless as living above them, I have no complaints."

"As a planet of the C.C.T we will start efforts to introduce a economy, make you a part of the C.C.T's agricultural programs, decades later you will be a acceptable nation. But in a sense you will be buying your way into this with your resources and man power. Prefabricated structures will replace Ruins and families will be united, all that peace malarkey.".

Obi chuckles "Malarkey, I like this man."

Fuego nods.

"Alright, well, I can easily give you scores upon scores of Malverdian Infantry, I will share any research with you, as pointless as it may seem."

Akuma pokes atop the desk with his index finger. "What about schools, power, running water? You know, all those things Jaro promised us months ago."

Jaro attempted to protest but he was hushed by nearly everyone at the table.

Herod spoke up "I will assist in all conflict and protection provided that transport services are provided for me."

Fuego came back into the conversation "How soon can we expect immediate improvement of standards?"

Solomus then dropped the key question. "When can we start training our own troops with CCT combat technique? When can load Kotungans aboard CCT battleships? When can Kotungans and CCT men march shoulder to shoulder onto other planets? Lord-Authority Fortnum is it? All you have to do is give us the tools and we can assist in this operation much faster than direct supervision, if you let us work with you rather than under you you can get the bread-basket planet that you seek much, much faster."

Herod nods. "Yeah, is that a help us help you thing?"

It was then loud footsteps were heard, the doors at the back of the war room burst open and a figure, drabbed in bright white snow camo and advanced arctic combat equipment sat down. He was white but very tan, he looked like a panda due to the fact that the area around his eyes was paler than the rest of his face, he pulled up a vacant chair and sat down panting.

"Did I miss it? Come on guys what did I miss?!"

Obi then squinted, then opened his eyes wide.

"Wait....Donnie?"

Donnie, having already lit a cigarette retorts. "What? Why's everyone staring at me like that....what?!"

The ship would send out a distress signal before being battered by kinetic energy. Utterly destroyed, the ship's main gun first explodes into a massive cyan mist, enveloping half of the ship. Several escape pods jettison from the other half of the ship in the direction of Kotunga, but only few remain after being swallowed by the mist. The ship then violently collapses in on itself, then explodes in a flare of light-distorting energy.

Fortnum would lock eyes with Donnie, not impressed he arrived, most disappointed he was late.

"Donavan, you live in the North?".

Donnie kicked his chair back and enjoyed his cigarette. "Course I live in the North, I'm Donnie, well, I used to, I was just called in here because apparently I have a political effect on the people, yup, its pretty sweet."

Donnie then drops his feet off the chair.

"Okay, give us the game plan chief."

Fortnum would shake his head at the cocky bastard, the two Gestapo officers standing in the shadow as Fortnum's escort would chuckle and make bets amongst themselves before Fortnum speaks.

"Address me and the people of this table with respect or that power will be taken away."

Donnie taps the table with his fingers, breaths sharply in, squints a bit, looks at Fortnum and puffs his cheeks when he exhales. He then stands up and walks out. The whole table watches his as he struts out of the hall and leaves, with only Obi saying;

"Holay shit, when's the next time we'll see him again?"

Akuma replied "Two to Three years."

Obi then looks at Fortnum "You do realise he talks to everyone that way, he talked to me when I had him imprisoned, I don't even think he knows what manners are. Anyway, he'll come back soon enough, I doubt even 30 seconds after leaving this room he'll become hard to find. I think that we should start planting crops in the El Manar Savannah region, there's a lot of land there and little to no natives populating it."

Jaro then speaks up.
"What about Canoofaque? It is one of the best patches of soil in the known universe!"

Akuma sighs; "The problem with that, Jaro, is that it's become part of the badlands..."

Everyone begins to murmer over the word associated with the biggest ball-and-chain region of Kotunga.

"Yes, the badlands, we have to sort it out, soon, its getting bigger and bigger and it threatens to plunge us all back into the deep end, it's like fucking whack a mole, you smush it down it just re-surfaces, and don't even get me started on its inhabitants-"

"Let me just stop you right there," Obi cut him off "Those badlands boys can be quite good, and a few of them are better than good, you ever heard of Yasa Koobiku? He blew up the stage at Jaro's meeting the other day. Him, Rickett Dog, Bad Dog and a few others, they ain't too bad."

Akuma twiddled his thumbs.

"Uhm, is there not a nuke in the badlands?" said Carl

"Well, we think so, but it's pretty unknown where it is right now." said Jaro

Herod finished with :"Look quit talkin about the past, the faster we get this over and done with the better, the only people who dont know about this are the Zehn'Tek's and the Eastern Raiders, who we can deal with. I say meeting adjourned."

USS Hastings, SCVN-85
Combat Information Center
4LY from Kotunga

"Jump prep underway Admiral, we're calculating the coordinates now."

"Very well. Give me fleet-wide."

The Admiral picked up the phone from the command table and placed it on the side of her head. She was still not sure if they were doing the right thing, but her superiors had authorized the operation: they were responding to the distress call. Thanks to the vast superiority of the USC's jump drives when compared to most alien devices, the ship had managed to make record jumps across the sector, using Earth as a first destination so they could shorten the distance via jump gate.

"Attention all hands, this is your Admiral. I am sorry we couldn't brief you before we left Sanctuary, but there was no time. A few hours ago, we received an emergency distress signal from the planet we known as 'Kotunga'. The message was identified as Hakoni. The Chiefs of Staff have approved of a rescue mission, despite the fact that we may be needed to urgently reinforce the Carentan in the Council Station. This is going to be a quick insertion and extraction, but we are taking no risks. Stand by for a combat jump."

The briefing ended, and the Admiral put the phone down just as the buzzing in CIC got louder: the ship's capacitors had charged, the calculations had been done, and everything was ready for a jump. The FTL Systems Officer removed his key from around his neck and inserted it into the slot, turning.

"Jumping in five, four, three, two..."

Kotunga
Low Orbit

Several flashes filled the darkness of space, all disappearing in an instant. Any sensors active would detect a large collection of ships, with two capitals and three battleships at their core. Most of the smaller ships jumped away instantly, while a lone EWAR Destroyer stuck around to provide anti-stealth detection for the ships. Immediately, nuclear warnings would be picked up: the flagship was loading nuclear weapons. Similarly, the dreadnought's cannon power readings went off the charts, and one of the battleships begun to load targeted flak shells into the munitions belts. Weapons were fully powered. The ships scanned for any signs of resistance, keeping their fighters in the launch tubes for now.
